About the position

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Cybersecurity Senior Engineer who will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, configuring, and implementing solutions to address complex technical and business challenges related to data security. This position focuses on critical areas such as Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Unstructured Data Protection. The Cybersecurity Senior Engineer will contribute significantly to the overall implementation of data security architecture, collaborating closely with senior staff to enhance and innovate security strategies across various hybrid and cloud-based applications, including infrastructure, platform, and software as a service. This role may also involve acting as a team lead, driving one or more projects as part of a Security or Security Risk Management team, and serving as a Subject Matter Expert in data security. In this remote opportunity, the Cybersecurity Senior Engineer will lead data security initiatives, which include the deployment of data protection solutions, the development and deployment of data loss policies, and the enhancement and tuning of existing data loss policies. The engineer will guide and mentor other engineers in advanced troubleshooting, the development of custom scripts, securing systems, and configuring platforms to bolster existing cybersecurity measures. Additionally, the role involves leading root-cause analysis to identify improvement strategies when failures occur and participating in Continual Service Improvement efforts by pinpointing opportunities for process enhancement. The Cybersecurity Senior Engineer will also manage their workload effectively, prioritize tasks, document time, and perform other duties as necessary. They will be a key participant in the development, population, and advocacy of knowledge management and collaboration systems for the Cybersecurity team. Effective communication of complex technical information to team members and all levels of management is essential, as is acting as a security advocate for the IT operations team's adherence to CommonSpirit Health policies and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Leads data security initiatives including deployment of data protection solutions and development of data loss policies.
  • Guides and mentors engineers in advanced troubleshooting and development of custom scripts.
  • Leads root-cause analysis to determine improvement strategies when failures occur.
  • Participates in Continual Service Improvement efforts by identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Drives and participates in the reduction of enterprise and organizational cybersecurity risk.
  • Manages workload, prioritizing tasks and documenting time.
  • Drives and participates in the collection, documentation, and dissemination of vital information.
  • Key participant in the development and championing of knowledge management and collaboration systems for the Cybersecurity team.
  • Communicates complex technical information to team members and all levels of management.
  • Acts as a security advocate for IT operations team's adherence to CommonSpirit Health policies and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 4-5 years of job-related experience required.
  • Knowledge of Data Loss Prevention techniques, Endpoint Security, Policy Management, Trellix, Skyhigh, CASB, managing over 100k endpoints, collaboration and best practices required.
  • Proficient understanding of regulatory and compliance mandates, including but not limited to HIPAA, HITECH, PCI, Sarbanes-Oxley preferred.
  • Experience with CASB and cloud-based DLP solutions is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare environments preferred.
