About the position

The IT Data Analyst position is a contract role focused on providing technical application support for a utility client, which is among the largest electric companies in the U.S. The analyst will be responsible for managing data, generating insights, and supporting IT project management operations. This role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to improve project delivery and performance through data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing data and reports for project managers, the PMO team, project stakeholders, and the C-suite, with an understanding of the different needs of each.
  • Gathering data outputs from projects and producing reports and forecasts about past and future project performance.
  • Reviewing and monitoring all IT project performance and performing regular process compliance checks and preparing reports for the same.
  • Managing and recommending required improvements to all project methodologies.
  • Drafting new and improving existing project management office policies and processes.
  • Working with IT Project Management Office teams to ensure practices are well communicated and understood.
  • Facilitating meetings and presenting reports, analysis, or findings.
  • Documenting and effectively communicating the results of your efforts.
  • Validating solutions meet business needs and requirements.
  • Developing a thorough understanding of business processes, best practices, and available supporting technology & documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 3+ years of experience as a data analyst.
  • Expert in Excel.
  • Strong Power Point Presentation skills.
  • Ability to explain technical solutions, practices, and procedures to technical resources, project managers, and customers at various levels through excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of PMO processes/portfolio management processes is a must.
  • Self-driven and have demonstrated the ability to work independently with minimum guidance.
  • Demonstrated multitasking ability, problem solving skills and a consistent record of on time delivery and customer service.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Utilities experience preferred.
