This role will be hybrid, requiring candidates to be onsite for three days a week in or around Jacksonville, FL. As an IT Architect, you'll help design the foundation for how our global fintech platforms perform and scale. Your expertise will influence the selection, operation, and administration of systems and software for our environment that supports vital business processes. This position is being filled by the WRA - Wealth and Retirement Administration division, specifically focusing on Retirement. Retirement provides software and services for the Retirement industry, including services for Mutual Fund Companies, Financial Institutions, and Corporations. This position is part of the Tech Dev group that includes development and quality assurance for software services, with a global team comprising members in the US and India. In this role, you will document and publish appropriate architecture principles and standards, position papers, blueprints, best practices, patterns, and frameworks. You will define, construct, support, and provide training for enterprise frameworks, maintain a library of functional component models, and document functional product solutions for key FIS product strategy and management initiatives. You will also evaluate current data architecture and databases to determine needed upgrades and improvements, create end-to-end models and plans for data consumption and analysis, and ensure all data structures comply with FIS and industry standards as well as retirement regulations. Additionally, you will maintain security of the database and create standards to ensure that the system is safe, preserving a repository of all data architecture artifacts. Other related duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Document and publish appropriate architecture principles and standards, position papers, blueprints, best practices, patterns, and frameworks.
  • Define, construct, support, and provide training for enterprise frameworks.
  • Maintain a library of functional component models within and across FIS product lines.
  • Document functional product solutions for key FIS product strategy and product management initiatives.
  • Maintain a catalogue of reusable functional application components consumable across applications and product lines.
  • Review functional and technical designs to identify areas of risk and/or missing requirements.
  • Act as a tie breaker on design decisions.
  • Document and communicate opportunities to leverage inter-project synergies and application asset reuse.
  • Evaluate current data architecture and databases to determine needed upgrades and improvements.
  • Create end-to-end models and plans for data consumption and analysis.
  • Code and design new data architecture, integrating existing databases.
  • Ensure all data structures are in strict compliance with FIS and industry standards as well as retirement regulations.
  • Use ETL best practices in the creation of the database.
  • Research and discover new methods to acquire data.
  • Maintain security of the database and create standards to ensure system safety.
  • Preserve a repository of all data architecture artifacts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an architect capacity.
  • Technical skills: AWS, Python, Java, Perl, ETL tools like Informatica, Snowflake, Jenkins, CI/CD, Oracle, Postgres, Machine learning, modeling tools (Erwin, Enterprise Architect, and Visio), knowledge of NoSQL and cloud computing, Hadoop technologies, Linux.
  • In-depth knowledge of end-to-end systems development lifecycles including waterfall and Agile.
  • Proficiency in solutions design and requirements definition disciplines leveraging model-driven design-based tools and techniques.
