About the position

The IT Associate Data Engineer will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and maintaining enhancements to core data warehouse applications as requested by business partners. This position involves the development and maintenance of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines necessary for populating dimensional data models. The Associate Data Engineer will leverage Azure cloud-based services to research and respond to complex data inquiries and perform ad-hoc data analysis as needed. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for triaging and resolving issues across all areas of Eversource's Enterprise data platform solutions. In this role, the individual will be expected to understand code development that complies with high standards and quality, ensuring that the desired functionality is delivered using cutting-edge technology. The Associate Data Engineer will take ownership of delegated tasks while also assisting other team members. Responsibilities include designing data mappings, contributing to data catalogs, and gaining hands-on experience in designing and building data pipelines for ETL-related jobs. Collaboration within a team is essential to ensure that all components meet the objectives and performance goals defined in the requirements. The position requires a drive to learn and master new technologies, as well as an understanding of Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Experience with tools such as Git, Jenkins, or Bamboo for version control, automated testing, and deployment is also necessary. The Associate Data Engineer will be involved in building data processing pipelines for production “hands-off” batch systems, which may include traditional ETL pipelines and/or analytics pipelines. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapt to changing priorities is crucial for success in this role.
