About the position

The IT Data Engineer II at GCI Communication Corp is responsible for building and maintaining the framework that supports enterprise activities related to data acquisition, transformation, and delivery. This role involves developing and testing infrastructures for analytics, leveraging existing data systems to fulfill data-related requests, and collaborating with various stakeholders to address technical issues and support data infrastructure needs.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery.
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources.
• Develop analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition and operational efficiency.
• Assist stakeholders with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
• Conduct root cause analysis and document processes.
• Educate corporate users on data use, literacy, and governance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering, or a relevant field.
• Minimum of four years' experience in corporate data analytics, real-time analytics, and visualization tools, or related background.
• Comprehensive understanding of software engineering principles and big data.
• Experience with SQL and related query tools.
• Experience with at least one programming language.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in large database systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL.
• Telecom industry or job-specific certifications.
