About the position

The IT Data Engineer III at GCI Communication Corp is responsible for building and maintaining the framework that supports enterprise activities related to data acquisition, transformation, and delivery. This role involves developing, maintaining, and testing infrastructures for analytics across the company, ensuring that data is accessible and usable for analysis. The engineer will work closely with various stakeholders to address data-related technical issues and support the overall data infrastructure needs of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery.
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources.
• Develop analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition and operational efficiency.
• Assist stakeholders with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
• Conduct root cause analysis and document processes.
• Educate corporate users on data use, literacy, and governance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering, or a relevant field.
• Minimum of six (6) years' experience in corporate data analytics, real-time analytics, and visualization tools, or related background.
• Strong command of scripting languages and ability to solve complex coding problems.
• Experience with SQL and related query tools.
• Experience working with at least two programming languages.
• Knowledge of big data and cloud providers.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in large database systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL.
• Telecom industry or job-specific certifications.
