About the position

As an IT Data Engineer, you will be instrumental in implementing innovative technologies and methods, driving change, and playing a key role within the IT Department. This cross-functional position reports directly to the Senior Director of IT and is a vital part of the client's business-driven Analytics Center of Excellence. Our client is transforming data into valuable insights, and as an IT Data Engineer, you will lead the way in supporting business teams to become data storytellers and creators of actionable insights. You will be the innovator making this transformation possible! This role is crucial in delivering exceptional customer service across all levels and is responsible for designing, building, and implementing data pipelines that support analysts and enterprise-wide reporting. You will manage and maintain a cloud-based analytic reporting layer while supporting data extracts and transformations, ensuring jobs run smoothly, staying organized, and prioritizing tasks effectively. Adaptability in a multi-project environment is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and administer analytical cloud architecture.
  • Ensure data pipelines and data stores are high-performing, efficient, organized, and reliable.
  • Design, implement, monitor, and optimize data platforms to meet organizational needs.
  • Assist in designing technical solutions for data gathering, landing, consumption, and analysis across our reporting architecture, including data lakes, Power BI, Synapse, and SAP Analytics Cloud.
  • Perform data analysis to support and enhance information management systems.
  • Clearly communicate technical details to business and management personnel.
  • Support the development and execution of ETL/ELT strategies.
  • Engage in the ACoE's project planning process.
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet business requirements.
  • Address data-related technical issues and assist with infrastructure needs.
  • Work with the ACoE to enhance the functionality of data systems.
  • Support the development of reporting standards.
  • Execute data governance strategies.
  • Partner with technical and non-technical colleagues to understand data and reporting requirements.
  • Identify areas for improvement and suggest solutions.
  • Contribute to the team and organization as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud).
  • Experience with advanced database systems, including warehouses, data marts, and models for business, financial, and operational data.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data lakes and data warehousing solutions.
  • Familiarity with Power BI and SAP Analytics Cloud.
