About the position

As an IT Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading the implementation of new technologies and methods within the organization. Reporting directly to senior IT leadership, your primary responsibility will be to develop and manage data pipelines that ensure high performance and support analytics across the organization. This position requires a strong focus on maintaining and optimizing cloud-based reporting layers while working with various reporting platforms to deliver actionable insights. In this role, you will be tasked with building and managing cloud-based data architecture, which is essential for the organization’s data strategy. You will design and implement ETL/ELT solutions for seamless data integration, ensuring that data flows efficiently from various sources into the data warehouse. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining high-performance data pipelines and data stores, which are vital for the organization’s analytics capabilities. Effective communication will be key, as you will need to convey technical details to stakeholders across different levels of the organization. Additionally, you will be responsible for addressing data-related technical issues and supporting the infrastructure needs of the organization. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the organization’s data-driven decision-making processes and to lead initiatives that enhance data management practices.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage cloud-based data architecture.
  • Design and implement ETL/ELT solutions for data integration.
  • Maintain high-performance data pipelines and data stores.
  • Communicate technical details to stakeholders.
  • Address data-related technical issues and support infrastructure needs.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud).
  • Experience working with advanced database systems including warehouses, data marts, and models needed for business, financial and operational analysis.
  • Cleansing, manipulating data sets, and anomaly detection.
  • Experience building relational data models.
  • Experience creating and managing ETL pipelines.
  • Experience performing data analysis.
  • Proficiency in connecting to data sources, modeling data, and creating visuals.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, writing queries, and database design.
  • Experience with multiple programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, C#).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Analytics and Data Science tools, technologies, and techniques (R, Python, algorithms, Azure ML Studio/Services).
  • Custom visualizations in Microsoft Power BI using D3 and jQuery.
  • Azure Infrastructure architecture and design.
  • Experience authoring reports using business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, SAP Analytics Cloud, etc.).
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g. Power Automate).
  • Statistical and mathematical programming or ML tools used to train data (e.g. Stata, SAS, R, MATLAB, Pytorch, TensorFlow etc.).
