Dogwood Industries is seeking a full-time IT Database Administrator to join our growing team. The company is an industrial manufacturer with facilities in Sedro-Woolley, Everett, and Bothell, WA. A successful candidate will be experienced in serving the technological needs of a business and be ready to provide IT support and leadership as the company grows. The role involves managing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL databases for SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SolidWorks PDM, and ERP software. The IT Database Administrator will support and maintain databases on servers that run Microsoft SQL Server Standard, monitor key metrics, optimize SQL queries, and adjust indexes to handle performance issues. In addition to database management, the administrator will manage user access and permissions within the SQL and PDM software, ensuring that sensitive data is protected. Regular database tuning and optimization will be required, along with monitoring software usage and performance to identify areas for improvement and implementing solutions. The role also includes coordinating software updates and upgrades, testing new features, and ensuring compatibility with existing systems. Documentation on database software configurations, processes, and standards must be prepared and maintained, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations related to database software usage and data security. The IT Database Administrator will also monitor, manage, and assist with the implementation and maintenance of backup and disaster recovery procedures for company data and systems. Participation in regular IT security audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities in systems and processes is essential. The role requires providing on-call support for emergencies outside of regular business hours, procuring, installing, configuring, and maintaining workstation and server hardware, software, and networking devices. Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to computer systems, networks, and peripherals, as well as providing technical support and assistance to end users, are key responsibilities. The administrator will maintain an inventory of computer hardware and software, manage cell phones and VoIP phone systems, and ensure the connectivity and security of networked large industrial equipment. The position may also involve completing large IT projects and occasionally interfacing with Managed Service Providers (MSP). Travel to Bothell and Everett offices for services as needed is also part of the job.
