Dogwood Industries is seeking a full-time IT Database Administrator to join our growing team. The company is an industrial manufacturer with facilities in Sedro-Woolley, Everett, and Bothell, WA. A successful candidate will be experienced in serving the technological needs of a business and be ready to provide IT support and leadership as the company grows. The IT Database Administrator will play a crucial role in managing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL databases for various software applications including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SolidWorks PDM, and ERP software. This position requires a proactive approach to database management, ensuring optimal performance and security of sensitive data. The responsibilities include monitoring key metrics, optimizing SQL queries, and adjusting indexes to handle performance issues. The administrator will also manage user access and permissions within the SQL and PDM software, ensuring that sensitive data is protected. Regular database tuning and optimization will be essential, along with coordinating software updates and upgrades, testing new features, and ensuring compatibility with existing systems. Documentation of database software configurations, processes, and standards is also a critical part of the role, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations related to database software usage and data security. In addition to database management, the IT Database Administrator will monitor, manage, and assist with the implementation and maintenance of backup and disaster recovery procedures for company data and systems. Participation in regular IT security audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities in systems and processes is expected. The role also includes providing on-call support for emergencies outside of regular business hours, troubleshooting technical issues related to computer systems, networks, and peripherals, and maintaining an inventory of computer hardware and software. The administrator will also manage cell phones and the VoIP phone system, ensuring connectivity and security of networked large industrial equipment, and may interface with Managed Service Providers (MSP) as needed. Travel to Bothell and Everett offices for services may be required.
