Our dedicated IT teams innovate, design, and develop technology that is redefining how customers rent, buy, and share vehicles. As part of the Cloud Data Engineering team, you will be responsible for building and supporting data assets and APIs in the Enterprise Data Lake (EDL) used by various internal strategic solutions. This role is crucial as we create a new team within Cloud Data Engineering to deliver top-notch support for these critical capabilities. The IT Department Manager will lead the Cloud Data Engineering Application Service Delivery, ensuring high performance SLAs are met for the business. This position offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for remote work while also requiring on-site presence as needed at our Lakeside and/or Clayton Corporate HQ campus locations in St. Louis, Missouri. You will have the opportunity to define the organization structure of this new team, focusing on improving support processes and staffing. Additionally, you will be responsible for building a geographically diverse team to provide 24/7 solution support while maintaining a healthy work-life balance for team members. Your leadership will be essential in managing support incidents, resolving issues efficiently, and ensuring proper escalation and communication for any incidents. You will also oversee the development and professional growth of the team, supporting their career aspirations and fostering an environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a geographically diverse team to provide 24/7 solution support while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
  • Manage support incidents and alerts, ensuring they receive the correct priority and response.
  • Resolve issues quickly and efficiently to minimize business impact.
  • Ensure proper escalation and communication for any incidents that arise.
  • Perform root cause analysis and problem resolution to minimize issue re-occurrence.
  • Publish regular health reporting on the health of the EDL applications, including performance against application and support process SLAs.
  • Partner with Domain Teams and Data Engineering DevOps to ensure all production processes have necessary monitors and alerts in place.
  • Ensure EDL infrastructure components are kept up to date and current to maintain vendor support.
  • Work on small to medium-sized Product Optimization efforts for EDL solutions.
  • Service requests for small to medium-sized data fixes and other ad hoc business requests.
  • Provide tracking, oversight, and remediation of EDL application security vulnerabilities.
  • Lead and support response to all compliance and audit activities.
  • Oversee the development and professional growth of the team, supporting their career aspirations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with counterparts in other IT Solution teams leveraging EDL solutions and data assets.
  • Exercise sound financial management practices, including accurate forecasting and resource capacity planning.
  • Create a positive environment, maintaining timely and transparent communications, and exercising frequent expectations management.

Requirements

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship.
  • 8+ years of related experience in IT.
  • 5+ years of success leading teams within a large enterprise IT organization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven leadership supporting complex solutions, including experience with high volume mission critical workloads.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with data engineering concepts and trends.
  • Strong relationship building skills with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High degree of collaboration skills; works well with others in generating ideas and solving problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent high impact incidents.
  • Strong skills and experience mentoring and developing IT professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of incident and problem management business practices.
  • Commitment to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities.
