About the position

Pacific Office Automation is seeking an IT Desktop Connectivity Technician to join our field services team at our office in Salem, OR. This position is ideal for individuals who are problem solvers, detail-oriented, and capable of multi-tasking. We welcome experienced technicians, but we are also willing to train the right candidates for entry-level roles. As part of our dynamic department, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing network connectivity issues with various devices, including desktops, laptops, servers, firewalls, switches, and wireless access points. You will communicate with customers through phone and email to gather necessary information for effective troubleshooting. Collaboration with sales representatives, customers, and remote technicians is essential to resolve network-related problems efficiently. Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose network connectivity issues with devices such as desktops, laptops, servers, firewalls, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Communicate with customers via phone, email, etc. to gather information for troubleshooting.
  • Work closely with sales representatives, customers, and remote technicians to resolve network-related problems.
  • Contribute to a fun, growing, and dynamic department focused on providing the highest level of customer success.

Requirements

  • Some computer knowledge mixed with a willingness and capability to learn.
  • Natural problem-solving ability combined with a passion for fantastic customer service.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Associates degree preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and concepts (VPN, Routing, Ports, TCP/IP, Network analysis tools) preferred.
  • Network+, A+, Microsoft MD-100, Microsoft MD-101 Certifications are a plus.
  • Knowledge or hands-on experience providing technical support to users using Windows 10 and server versions, MAC OS, and other mainstream applications preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • VOIP technology experience a plus.
