As a Junior IT Desktop Support Technician, you will provide essential technical support services, focusing on desktops, laptops, and file/print servers. This role requires you to be a cross-department resource, showcasing advanced technical expertise alongside exceptional customer service management skills. You will be tasked with addressing advanced issues related to Windows, OSX, and desktop support, acting as the primary point of contact for end-users on a daily basis. Your responsibilities will include taking ownership of end-user needs and services, representing the IT organization in a professional manner, and maintaining regular communication with your direct manager. In this position, you will be expected to research, resolve, and respond to all customer issues and inquiries received through various channels, including phone, email, or in person, adhering to current standards and procedures. You will also configure and deploy workstations for both new and existing users, troubleshoot hardware and software problems, and perform necessary hardware repairs. Maintaining an asset inventory of equipment such as PCs, printers, and servers will be part of your duties, along with sharing job responsibilities and knowledge within the team. Additionally, you will develop basic research skills to stay updated on current and emerging trends in the computer industry and apply them to meet business needs.
