About the position

The IT Desktop Support Technician at Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas is responsible for providing technical support for the agency's computer and data systems. This role involves managing helpdesk tickets, supporting users with hardware and software issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems in alignment with the organization's mission. The technician will also handle new user setups, access control, asset tracking, and provide training to staff, all while promoting a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for agency computer and data systems.
  • Manage helpdesk tickets and the ticketing software.
  • Set up new helpdesk users and technicians.
  • Support the helpdesk application and software updates.
  • Assist with new user setup and removal, including access control and asset tracking.
  • Support Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and order equipment as needed.
  • Provide staff training and create job aids to enhance user efficiency.
  • Diagnose and resolve end-user network printer problems, PC hardware issues, and connectivity issues.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets and manage user access to systems and networks.
  • Install, configure, and maintain camera software and security systems.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; technical school or college degree in Information Technology or Computer Science preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience working in IT systems, preferably in a networked, multi-user environment.
  • Demonstrated skills in troubleshooting, problem solving, communication, and organization.
  • Working knowledge of Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2019, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, Active Directory, and networking principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly customer service oriented and a team player.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
  • Experience with SharePoint.
