As an IT Desktop Technician II, you will play a crucial role in providing Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to our organization. This position involves working closely with users to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring that our technology operates smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for installing and configuring new hardware and software, as well as providing expert-level support for standard computer equipment, including printers and scanners. Your proactive approach to process improvement will be essential in identifying opportunities to streamline service delivery and reduce downtime. In this role, you will provide Level 1 Help Desk Support, analyzing support requests and developing strategies to reduce recurring issues. You will also implement best practices for Level 2 support, focusing on computers and workstations. Your responsibilities will include managing corporate standard software configurations, assessing software needs, and ensuring that licensing and updates are handled effectively. Additionally, you will analyze recurring issues and develop proactive solutions to enhance the overall user experience. To succeed in this position, you will need a strong background in desktop support within a Windows environment, as well as excellent communication skills to interact with users effectively. Your ability to maintain records in the Asset Control System and create, update, and close service requests will be vital to your success. Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 1 Help Desk Support to the organization, including the analysis of support requests and the development of strategies for reducing recurring issues.
  • Provide Level 2 support for computers and workstations, implementing best practices to streamline service delivery and reduce downtime.
  • Install and configure new hardware and software, identifying opportunities to standardize procedures for increased efficiency.
  • Implement and manage corporate standard software configurations, continually assessing software needs, licensing, and updates for process enhancements.
  • Offer expert-level hardware support for standard computer equipment, including printers and scanners, and proactively assess hardware life cycle to optimize replacement schedules and minimize disruptions.
  • Provide advanced technical support to users and customers, both remotely and on-site, with a particular focus on computer and software issues.
  • Analyze recurring issues and develop proactive solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 5 years of experience in Desktop Support in a Windows environment.
  • Ability to answer calls from users and troubleshoot issues.
  • Experience with a log tracking system to route logs to the proper support group.
  • Experience in installation and troubleshooting of all currently supported Windows operating systems including 10 and 11 Pro versions.
  • Experience in installation and troubleshooting all currently supported versions of Microsoft Office.
  • Proven experience in researching and interpreting technical documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in installation and troubleshooting of Microsoft Windows.
  • Ability to maintain records in Asset Control System.
  • Ability to create, update, and close Service Requests in systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in Engineering Technology or similar.
  • National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification.
  • Experience with automotive powertrain systems, alternative fuels, or electric battery systems.
  • Proficient in the use of maintenance tools, repair and special tools, diagnostic equipment.
  • Familiarity with application of diagnostic software such as Ford International Diagnostic Software (F-IDS), Ford Diagnosis and Repair Systems (FDRS), and Diagnostic Engineering Tool (DET).
  • Knowledge of vehicle systems (powertrain, chassis, electrical, thermal, exteriors, interiors, etc.) and related components, component materials & fasteners.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
