About the position

The IT Development Analyst position is focused on providing technical support and SQL development expertise within a hybrid work environment. The role involves analyzing system requirements, designing and implementing database solutions, and providing third-tier support for various applications. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, professional, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, diverse team setting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain database stored procedures, triggers and views.
  • Analyze and define logical and physical database structure based on project requirements.
  • Work directly with other IS team members and user community to define critical business requirements.
  • Maintain and enforce standards, security procedures, and controls for access to ensure database system integrity.
  • Define and participate in conceptual database design and specifications.
  • Perform database administration activities including but not limited to installation, configuration, backup and maintenance.
  • Perform database optimization, troubleshooting and tuning activities in a development/production environment.
  • Ensure the reliability, serviceability, and maintainability of database systems with demonstrable accuracy and security.
  • Develop test plans and test data for database systems.

Requirements

  • University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, plus generally four years of directly-related experience.
  • Strong working technical knowledge and/or IT development experience.
  • Strong working knowledge in Enterprise application or specific program language requirements of IT work.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of SQL development and administration.
  • Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries/stored procedures.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4-8 years experience in designing and implementing relational databases.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of software development life-cycle.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance; and comfortable interacting with individuals of both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
