About the position

The Director of Data Management & Analytics at Ferguson Enterprises will lead a team responsible for ensuring the integrity, organization, and effective use of data across the enterprise. This role is crucial for coordinating data-driven initiatives, managing data warehouses, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and data governance. The position requires strong leadership capabilities and deep knowledge of data management in both traditional and modern cloud-based environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the analytics team to align with organizational goals and deliver data-driven initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and career development opportunities for team members.
  • Manage a command center for 24/7 support of data pipelines and infrastructure, addressing issues in real-time.
  • Oversee resource allocation, workload balancing, and performance management.
  • Serve as the EDA Control Owner and Reviewer for SOX technology controls, ensuring timely reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations and drive data governance initiatives.
  • Manage data access approval for the data warehouse, maintaining a secure access control process.
  • Ensure the integrity, availability, and accessibility of data within systems, providing support for business-critical needs.
  • Engage with business collaborators to prioritize technology delivery models and create enterprise solutions.
  • Oversee month-end processing within Legacy and Azure data warehouses for accurate reporting.
  • Act as the Service Owner and Disaster Recovery TRP Owner for critical data systems.
  • Lead the deprecation of legacy systems and migration to modern cloud-based platforms.
  • Drive cost optimization efforts while maintaining high-quality service delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in data management, data analytics, or data engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Expertise in managing large-scale data systems, both on-premises and cloud-based, particularly Azure and Databricks.
  • Experience managing enterprise data warehouses, data lakes, and data pipelines.
  • Proficiency with Azure technologies including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and Power BI.
  • Experience with legacy data systems and transitioning data to modern platforms.
  • Understanding of data governance, data security, and compliance (e.g., SOX).
  • Experience in disaster recovery planning and execution for complex data systems.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
