About the position

The IT EHR Business Analyst 3 position at the Georgia Department of Public Health involves analyzing enterprise-wide customer business needs and participating in the planning, design, and implementation of new or enhanced Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, ensuring the integration and support of HL7 standards, and providing technical support for software and cloud platforms. The analyst will also manage EHR systems, perform regular updates, and assist in training clinic staff on efficient EHR usage.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze enterprise-wide customer business needs for EHR systems.
  • Participate in the planning, design, and implementation of new or enhanced EHR systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements for the EHR system.
  • Provide advanced Windows troubleshooting and support for software and cloud platforms.
  • Resolve technical issues and enhance platform performance in collaboration with developers and administrators.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to understand their issues and provide timely solutions.
  • Compose clear and detailed JIRA tickets for developers and administrators.
  • Ensure the security of IT systems and data, adhering to best practices and company policies.
  • Utilize tools like REST APIs, Postman, and Swagger for testing and documentation purposes.
  • Manage and maintain EHR and practice management systems, ensuring optimal and secure functioning.
  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups to ensure data integrity and system reliability.
  • Provide technical support to end-users and interface with vendor support teams to address software issues.
  • Assist corporate trainers with training programs for clinic staff on EHR system usage.
  • Analyze clinical workflows and processes to identify opportunities for optimization within the EHR system.
  • Generate and analyze reports to support clinical and administrative decision-making.

Requirements

  • Associate degree and three (3) years of related experience, or two (2) years of experience at the lower-level IT Enterprise Business Analyst 2 (ITP181) or position equivalent.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows operating systems and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and supporting software applications.
  • Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficiency with ticketing systems like JIRA and Ivanti for issue tracking and ticket management.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Understanding of IT security tools and protocols.
  • Proficiency in HL7 and IT security best practices is preferred.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience managing EHR and Practice Management systems in a medical or healthcare setting.
  • Proven experience in EHR system implementation, configuration, and support.
