Nelnet Business Services (NBS), a division of Nelnet, Inc., is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, performance, and availability of the organization's IT systems. This position involves designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure, tools, and processes necessary for efficient software development, deployment, and operations. The DevSecOps Engineer will collaborate with development, security, and IT operations teams, automate workflows, and ensure seamless delivery of high-quality applications. The role is pivotal in supporting a wide range of development teams looking to modernize their applications through a container-first strategy, while adhering to security standards and best practices in a DevSecOps framework. The responsibilities of the DevSecOps Engineer include provisioning, configuring, and monitoring infrastructure resources for systems hosted in AWS and/or Azure cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have solid experience with various technologies, particularly in designing, building, and optimizing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. They will implement best practices for automated testing, code quality checks, and deployment automation, while working heavily with Microsoft cloud-hosted code management services such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, and GitHub Actions. The role also involves deploying, managing, and scaling containerized applications using Kubernetes, evaluating system performance, and developing solutions to potential bottlenecks. In addition, the DevSecOps Engineer will define and evolve Build & Release best practices, ensuring continuous availability of various DevOps tools supporting Software Configuration Management (SCM) and Release Management. They will work with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement enterprise scalable features that enhance developer productivity and facilitate autonomous delivery teams. The position requires a culture of automation, where repetitive tasks, including security controls, are automated, and close collaboration with Cloud Infrastructure, Security, and Development teams is essential to ensure adherence to organizational best practices, policies, and procedures.
