About the position

The IT Engineering Systems Product Manager at Scot Forge is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing system selections, implementations, and change management processes that support the manufacturing quoting/pricing, production configuration (CPQ), and product engineering. This full-time position is integral to various functions including Sales, Marketing, Quality, Metallurgy, and Process Engineering, all of which contribute to the Configure/Price/Quote (CPQ) processes. The ideal candidate will possess the knowledge and expertise to translate functional business requirements into actionable manufacturing technical solutions, ensuring that the systems implemented align with the company's operational goals. In this role, the Product Manager will engage in hands-on management of activities related to supply chain, procurement, inventory, pricing, costing, and engineering projects. The position requires the development of custom quote/project management tools and collaboration with tools such as Solidworks, CRM systems, process workflow tools, and ERP applications. The Product Manager will also manage cross-functional teams focused on cost accounting and lean initiatives, serving as a trusted business partner to deliver innovative solutions that enhance overall operational efficiency. The responsibilities extend to leading the identification of user requirements, delivering technology capabilities, and managing change as part of the implementation process. The Product Manager will focus on projects that align with key performance indicators such as quality, on-time delivery, cost reduction, and capacity improvement, while also addressing customer pain points. Participation in the scoping, design, testing, training, and implementation of next-generation quote through order generation workflow and technology solutions is also a critical aspect of this role. The position is based at the corporate office in Spring Grove, IL, and requires a strong collaboration mindset, a customer-first approach, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee system selections, implementations, and change management for manufacturing quoting/pricing and product engineering.
  • Support Sales, Marketing, Quality, Metallurgy, and Process Engineering functions related to Configure/Price/Quote (CPQ) processes.
  • Translate functional business requirements into implementable manufacturing technical solutions.
  • Manage activities associated with supply chain, procurement, inventory, pricing, costing, and engineering projects.
  • Develop custom quote/project management tools.
  • Work with Solidworks, CRM tools, process workflow tools, and ERP applications.
  • Manage cross-functional teams for cost accounting and lean initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted business partner to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Lead the identification of user requirements and deliver technology capabilities.
  • Manage change as part of the implementation process.
  • Focus on projects aligned with key performance indicators such as quality, on-time delivery, and cost reduction.
  • Provide business and process owners with information for educated decision-making regarding system changes.
  • Participate in scoping, design, testing, training, and implementation of technology solutions for quote and order generation.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience (strongly preferred).
  • Knowledge of Solidworks, CRM tools, process workflow tools, ERP applications, and Configure/Price/Quote (CPQ) tools.
  • Experience with product configuration systems (preferred).
  • Project or Program Management experience.
  • Engineering IT Program Management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field with emphasis in Mathematics, Science, or Business.
