About the position

The IT Enterprise Architect at Cambridge Associates is responsible for providing strategic leadership in designing and implementing scalable web and backend architectures. This role involves integrating artificial intelligence technologies to enhance applications, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and influencing the technology direction of the firm. The architect will oversee the software development lifecycle, mentor development teams, and ensure architectural governance while facilitating effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary guidance in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable web and backend architectures.
• Lead the exploration and implementation of AI technologies to enhance applications.
• Foster strong partnerships across departments and teams to achieve organizational objectives.
• Contribute to strategic decision-making processes and influence the technology direction of the firm.
• Partner with senior business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives and develop comprehensive solutions.
• Influence and contribute to the firm's technology strategy and roadmap.
• Lead strategic technology initiatives that advance the firm's objectives and drive innovation.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, including coding standards and code reviews.
• Mentor and lead development teams, fostering an environment of skill growth and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with IT Architects to ensure architectural consistency and governance.
• Facilitate effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Minimum of 12 years in systems development, with at least 6 years focused on system design and architecture.
• Proven experience in implementing AI and machine learning solutions.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and leading large-scale technology initiatives.
• Solid understanding of cloud and data architecture, distributed systems, software design patterns, and AI technologies.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with AWS, SaaS applications, RESTful APIs, SQL, and relational databases.
• Highly proficient in programming languages such as Java, C#, and .NET.
• Proven experience leading and managing software development teams.
• Demonstrated experience with Agile software development methodologies.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and teams.
• Experience in organizational leadership roles and influencing technology direction at the enterprise level.
• Exceptional analytical skills to understand complex system interactions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
