About the position

The IT Epic Instructional Designer at CommonSpirit Health is responsible for managing the scope, schedule, and quality of training projects and materials related to Epic applications. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to gather training requirements, develop instructional materials, and ensure effective curriculum delivery in alignment with adult learning principles. The position also includes leading small to medium projects, maintaining documentation, and supporting team members with application knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Support the management of project scope, schedule, and quality for training materials.
  • Gather training requirements and conduct workflow walkthroughs.
  • Develop and document internal procedures for application and training.
  • Lead weekly team meetings to discuss project activities and updates.
  • Collaborate with leadership to coordinate project activities.
  • Lead small to medium projects including issues and decision lists, risks, and status reports.
  • Complete specific tasks for curriculum design, MST build, and optimization tickets.
  • Share knowledge with team members and support application and information systems.
  • Collaborate with vendor resources for technical build and testing.
  • Maintain documentation for training environments and ensure production changes are implemented.
  • Convert traditional courses into online learning formats as needed.
  • Develop instructional materials consistent with adult learning theory.
  • Maintain tools and processes to support training program effectiveness.
  • Support credentialing through role-based assessment programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge and skills in a Healthcare environment.
  • At least five years of relevant healthcare experience.
  • Experience with adult learning and curriculum delivery preferred.
  • One or more valid Epic certifications, with maintenance of certification required.
  • Knowledge of computer technology and software training within Healthcare.

  • Experience in project management within a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms and tools.
