About the position

The IT EPIC Instructional Designer at CommonSpirit Health is responsible for managing the scope, schedule, and quality of training projects and materials within their designated application area. This role involves collaborating with leadership, developing instructional materials, and converting traditional courses into online formats, all while ensuring adherence to adult learning principles. The position supports credentialing and may require off-shift coverage during implementation projects, with a focus on fostering a team-oriented atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Support the management of the scope, schedule, and quality of projects and training materials.
  • Gather training requirements and conduct workflow walkthroughs.
  • Develop and document internal procedures for application and training.
  • Lead weekly team meetings to discuss project activities and updates.
  • Collaborate with leadership to coordinate project activities.
  • Lead small to medium projects/work plans, including issues and risks management.
  • Complete specific tasks for curriculum design and development.
  • Support team members with application and information systems knowledge.
  • Collaborate with vendor resources for technical build and testing.
  • Maintain documentation for training environments.
  • Convert traditional courses into online learning modes as needed.
  • Develop instructional materials consistent with adult learning theory.
  • Maintain tools and processes to support training program effectiveness.
  • Develop role-based credentialing and assessment programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge and skills in a Healthcare environment.
  • At least five years of relevant healthcare experience.
  • Experience with adult learning and curriculum delivery preferred.
  • One or more valid Epic certifications, with a requirement to maintain certification.
  • Knowledge of computer technology and software training within Healthcare.
