About the position

The Epic Application Analyst at CommonSpirit Health is responsible for designing, building, testing, implementing, and supporting information technology solutions that enhance patient care and operational efficiency. This remote position requires on-call coverage and some travel, focusing on the configuration and utilization of Epic applications, particularly Epic Radiant. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to document requirements, troubleshoot issues, and facilitate performance improvements in clinical and financial operations.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, builds, tests, implements, and supports IT solutions to meet operational and clinical needs.
  • Delivers project assignments of medium to high complexity, including application design and configuration build.
  • Documents requirements and communicates effectively with customers and peers to implement changes.
  • Supports and maintains day-to-day existing functionality/programs/applications.
  • Performs intermediate system analysis and troubleshooting to implement new functionality/programs/applications.
  • Creates thorough system design and build documentation.
  • Analyzes system functionality and its fit with operations, troubleshooting basic problems as needed.
  • Translates high-level business requirements to detailed technical designs/documentation.
  • Collaborates with other analysts, staff, vendors, and leadership.
  • Meets with department heads and executives to identify and prioritize needs.
  • Leads application management activities for a single functional area to achieve project objectives.
  • Manages product lifecycle management and end user enhancement requests of moderate to high complexity.
  • Assists in identifying barriers to the adoption of clinical practice.
  • Facilitates performance improvement for effective use of information technology.
  • Supports business/clinical operations with clinical and financial end users.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or 4 years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in clinical, operational, application support, or implementation.
  • Development experience with applications in a hospital or medical-related industry.
  • Epic Radiant experience is required.
  • Integrated testing experience is required.
  • EPIC certification for the area supported is required or must be obtained within 4 months of employment.
  • Ongoing maintenance of Epic certification(s) is required.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting hardware and software is necessary.
  • Experience working with project life cycle or project management methodologies is required.
  • Advanced understanding of leading business and technology partners through deployment and implementation life cycles.
