About the position

The IT Field Service Technician role at Genesis Prime Care involves providing technical support and maintenance for computer systems, network infrastructure, and peripheral devices within a growing healthcare company. The technician will be responsible for installation, configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting of hardware and software, ensuring optimal performance and user satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze technical applications to maximize the capabilities of computer systems and networks.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to software, hardware, and operating systems.
  • Test compatibility of new programs with existing hardware and software.
  • Maintain asset management and inventory control processes for documentation of devices.
  • Gather data and evaluate options to determine the best course of action regarding equipment and systems.
  • Install software and execute necessary commands for testing.
  • Utilize workstation imaging processes to prepare devices for deployment.
  • Establish hardware connections and complete necessary testing.
  • Train users and produce technical documentation to enable end users on hardware and software functionality.
  • Utilize helpdesk ticketing software to document service requests and maintain a shared knowledge base.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some college preferred.
  • 1 to 2 years of desktop support experience preferred.
  • Strong teamwork characteristics and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to solve problems quickly in high-stress situations using advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • Desire to develop technical abilities to support all aspects of the infrastructure.
  • Capability to build strong client relationships and maintain their confidence.
  • Understanding of network design and implementation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in software troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of various computer systems and technology.
