About the position

TEKsystems is seeking a dedicated Desktop Support Technician to join our dynamic team in Aurora, IL. This position is fully onsite and plays a crucial role in providing technical support and troubleshooting for our customers. As a Desktop Support Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that users receive top-notch support across various hardware, software, and network systems. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining the operational efficiency of our clients' IT environments. In this role, you will deliver on-site technical support, addressing and resolving issues that arise for our customers. You will install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and network systems, ensuring that all components function seamlessly. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with the service desk and other team members to tackle complex technical problems that require a team effort to resolve. Additionally, you will perform system upgrades, updates, and patches to optimize performance and conduct regular preventative maintenance on customers' IT systems to minimize downtime. Training end users on the proper usage of hardware, software, and networking systems will also be part of your responsibilities. It is essential to document all service activities meticulously, including troubleshooting steps and resolutions, to maintain a clear record of support provided.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of hardware, software, and networking systems, including troubleshooting techniques.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational skills for task prioritization.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to customer locations as needed.
