About the position

The IT Field Service Technician at Peak Technologies is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and technical support for IT equipment. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to manage various IT tasks while traveling to client locations. The technician will work in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site visits with remote support, and will be expected to handle a variety of technical issues related to IT systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and build strong relationships with clients.
• Travel within a radius of 25 to 100+ miles daily to provide on-site support.
• Understand AC/DC and backup power concepts to assist clients effectively.
• Manage triage, troubleshooting, and resolution of IT equipment issues.
• Document efforts, issues, and resolutions, and close cases/tickets daily.
• Work with various operating systems including Windows, OSX, and Linux/Unix.
• Provide support for POS systems, PCs, printers, thin clients, access points, servers, and network switch equipment.
• Lift equipment and work at heights of 20' to 25' as needed.

Requirements

• A+ CompTIA certification is required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT or related technical field is preferred.
• 3-5 years of IT support experience is desired.
• Two years of IT technical support experience is preferred.
• Experience with copper and fiber cabling and various terminating connectors.

Nice-to-haves

• Net+ CompTIA certification is a plus.
• Experience with Windows operating systems is preferred.
