About the position

The IT Field Services Supervisor is responsible for supervising and performing technical tasks related to fiber optic communications, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of field components such as CCTV cameras and fiber optic systems. This role involves providing direction and guidance to technical staff, overseeing contractors, and ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and perform technical fiber optic communications tasks.
• Provide direction, supervision, and guidance to assigned technical staff.
• Oversee contractors working on fiber optic installation and conduit projects.
• Ensure staff compliance with City safety policies and procedures.
• Plan, inspect, install, maintain, operate, and repair field components including CCTV cameras and fiber optic systems.
• Conduct fiber network testing and restoration.
• Design and track fiber optic networks using software programs.
• Utilize various equipment and tools for fiber optic tasks.
• Recommend policies and procedures for quality service provision.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with vocational or technical training in electronics or fiber optic systems.
• 6 to 9 years of experience as a technician with fiber optic cable, traffic signals, and communication networks.
• Valid Class B commercial driver's license (CDL).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with traffic systems and CCTV operations.
• Knowledge of Federal and State standards for cable installation.
