About the position

The IT Support Specialist at CRH's Americas Materials division is responsible for providing exemplary customer service to an assigned end user base while maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments. This role serves as the primary IT liaison for end users, addressing technical issues, supporting plant process systems, and ensuring effective communication between IT and users. The position requires a self-starter who can prioritize tasks and work under limited supervision, contributing to the continuous improvement of IT processes and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the IT liaison to end users, providing desk side and remote technical assistance during and after regular business hours.
  • Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including hardware and software configurations.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, researching and recommending effective solutions.
  • Provide support for plant process systems such as Command, APEX/JWS, and Libra Loadout.
  • Communicate actively with customers and management to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Assist in managing asset inventory and software deployment.
  • Adhere to departmental standards for information systems usage.
  • Create and maintain training guides and knowledge base solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the IT department.
  • Evaluate and implement new systems to enhance productivity and business operations.
  • Establish and maintain positive work relationships with co-workers and customers.
  • Travel to other business sites for support or training as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in information technology or equivalent experience, or 3 years in a similar IT support role.
  • Knowledge of Windows 10 and 11, Office 2016/365, mobile devices, VPN, and networking.
  • Certifications such as A+, ITIL Foundation, and recent MCP preferred.
  • Experience with Citrix, ShoreTel, and Command Alkon systems is a plus.
