About the position

The IT Field Support Specialist at AT&T Global Public Sector is responsible for providing Tier 2 and 3 on-site and remote support for end-user devices, including computer workstations, servers, printers, and teleconferencing equipment. This role involves conducting site surveys, preparing engineering plans, configuring devices, and training personnel, all while ensuring compliance with security clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site surveys and document current site configuration and user requirements.
  • Analyze existing requirements and prepare specifications for hardware acquisitions.
  • Prepare engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages.
  • Develop hardware installation schedules and prepare drawings documenting configuration changes.
  • Prepare site installation and test reports.
  • Configure computers, communications devices, and peripheral equipment.
  • Train site personnel in the proper use of hardware.
  • Build specialized interconnecting cables.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and test computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment.
  • Install and configure computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment and associated cabling.
  • Maintain government and/or vendor-manufactured fiber optic modems, multiplexers, fiber optic/Ethernet cables, and telephone systems.
  • Update technical drawings using AutoCAD software as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with four (4) years of experience.
  • 8570 Certification required.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.
  • Highly skilled in installing, repairing, and troubleshooting computer hardware and peripherals.
  • Well-versed in installing Windows, software, applications, antivirus, and patches.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
  • Able to manage time and priorities effectively.
  • Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in working with end-users remotely.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Windows 7 and 10.
  • Familiar with Active Directory security and policies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
