About the position

The IT Field Support Specialist (HT1) at AT&T Global Public Sector is responsible for providing Tier 2 and 3 on-site and remote support for a variety of end-user devices, including computer workstations, servers, printers, and teleconferencing equipment. This role involves conducting site surveys, preparing engineering plans, configuring devices, and training personnel, all while ensuring compliance with government standards and maintaining a high level of customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site surveys and document current site configuration and user requirements.
  • Analyze existing requirements and prepare specifications for hardware acquisitions.
  • Prepare engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages.
  • Develop hardware installation schedules and prepare drawings documenting configuration changes at each site.
  • Prepare site installation and test reports.
  • Configure computers, communications devices, and peripheral equipment.
  • Train site personnel in the proper use of hardware.
  • Build specialized interconnecting cables.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and test computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment.
  • Install and configure computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment and associated cabling.
  • Maintain government and/or vendor-manufactured fiber optic modems, multiplexers, fiber optic/Ethernet cables, and telephone systems.
  • Update technical drawings using AutoCAD software as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with four (4) years of experience in IT support.
  • 8570 Certification; Security+ preferred.
  • Highly skilled in installing, repairing, and troubleshooting computer hardware and peripherals.
  • Well-versed in installing Windows, software, applications, antivirus, and patches.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
  • Effective time and priority management skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in remote support for end-users.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Windows 7 and 10.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory security and policies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AutoCAD software for technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of government IT compliance standards.
