About the position

The IT Field Support Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining computer systems and networks to ensure effective IT services for end-users. This role serves as the first point of contact for IT support, focusing on troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of software and hardware components.

Responsibilities

• Serving as the first point of contact for IT support for clients.
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining software and hardware components of computer and network systems.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
• Repairing and replacing damaged computer and network components.
• Ensuring the security of client and server computers by installing and upgrading antivirus and firewall software.
• Supporting users with challenges related to computers and network devices.
• Maintaining and updating technical documentation regularly.
• Testing new hardware and software before full-scale installation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree preferred.
• 1 year of experience in technical support required.
• 1 year of experience in software troubleshooting required.
• 1 year of experience in computer hardware repair required.
• Experience with Active Directory, Windows OS, SCCM, and ITIL methodologies.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong customer service skills.
• Experience in computer networking.
• Experience with SharePoint.
