About the position

Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, the Field Support Technician is in charge of providing technical service and maintenance support at Optimus Mill. works in collaboration with network (wired LAN, wireless LAN, and WAN) architects and engineers, DBA's, cloud/servers/datacenter architects, cybersecurity and office automation bundles, as well with field supports ensuring the operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in developing the necessary IT infrastructure that enables all essential business applications to run efficiently.
  • Is responsible for the smooth and reliable operation of software and systems.
  • Comes up with innovative strategies for new and existing applications, DB's and operating systems.
  • Must offer technical assistance to the IT teams (Projects, Competences Center, Business Intelligence, Digital Transformation) for functional/business applications.
  • Must create and maintain policies and procedures for network administration, usage, contingency plans, recovery plans, continuity plans, cybersecurity plans.
  • Define, submit and track infrastructure procurement requests.
  • Control costs and budgets regarding IT infrastructure and operations systems.
  • Must offer support and technical guidance on projects test planning and execution.
  • Takes care of the implementation, administration, and support of infrastructure solutions and services, based on Microsoft, SAP, VMware and CISCO platforms.
  • Evaluate and select ITSM and SDLC tools and methodologies to provide service management capabilities.
  • Conduct regular PC specification reviews to ensure the needs of the business are met.
  • Work collectively with other teams to troubleshoot, brainstorm and determine risk analysis and mitigation for the purpose of streamlining processes.
  • Perform daily data backup maintenance and coordinate remote backup processes and media schedules.
  • Activate Level 2 and 3 support for infrastructure and applications as needed.
  • Take charge and catalog databases, networks, storage, servers, directories, and other technology services.
  • Conduct timely meetings with assigned vendors.
  • Plan, design, and manage infrastructure technologies that can support complex and heterogeneous corporate data and voice infrastructure.
  • Create and document proper installation and configuration/maintenance procedures.
  • Assist in handling software distributions and software updates and patches.

Requirements

  • Must have a good knowledge of network infrastructure, routers, firewalls, and other relevant network protocols and concepts, over CISCO technology.
  • MS Office 365, DB's and Azure administration, as well VMware administration.
  • Should have an in-depth understanding of ITIL framework, its deployment, and management, including CMDB.
  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot issues across different technology capabilities such as compute, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, software, and cloud.
