About the position

Innova Solutions is seeking an IT Field Technician to provide onsite support in the Cleveland, OH area. This position is primarily office-based and will initially be offered as a contract role, with a strong possibility of converting to a full-time employee (FTE) status. The IT Field Technician will be responsible for the installation, modification, and repair of personal computer hardware and software systems. Additionally, the technician will provide technical assistance and training to system users, ensuring that all technical issues are resolved efficiently and effectively. The role requires the technician to monitor and manage the network infrastructure, providing surveillance and event notifications. In cases of network issues, the technician will coordinate with the appropriate engineering teams or carriers to escalate problems as necessary. The technician will also interface directly with end users to independently resolve issues concerning system functions, troubleshoot PC hardware and software problems, and keep customers updated on ongoing trouble tickets, providing comprehensive reports on issues encountered. Furthermore, the IT Field Technician will administer Active Directory, Backup/Recovery Services, and the Anti-Virus environment, as well as Windows Server Update Services (WSUS). Collaboration with Server and Network engineering teams is essential for troubleshooting and implementing IT projects. The technician will also participate in project teams to implement or troubleshoot defined technical activities, ensuring that all projects are completed successfully and on time.

Responsibilities

  • Provide surveillance, management, and event notification of the network infrastructure.
  • Coordinate and escalate network issues to the appropriate engineering team or carrier.
  • Interface with end users to independently resolve problems concerning system functions.
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems related to PC hardware and software.
  • Update customers regularly on ongoing trouble tickets and provide full reports of issues.
  • Administer Active Directory, Backup/Recovery Services, Anti-Virus environment, and WSUS.
  • Interface with Server and Network engineering teams to troubleshoot and solve issues as well as implement IT projects.
  • Participate with project teams to implement or troubleshoot defined technical activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 5 years of technical support experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Windows Operating systems and Office suite
  • Experience with ticket and management systems
  • Experience removing computer viruses
  • Experience with LAN/WAN technologies and topologies
  • Organization skills to balance and prioritize work.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree
  • Current Microsoft certification
  • Current A+ Network+ certification
  • Citrix technologies experience
  • Experience with cloud servers or hosted systems.
