About the position

The IT Field Technician position is a critical role within one of the largest homebuilders in the US, based in Scottsdale, AZ. This position is primarily focused on providing on-site technical support at various community build sites. The technician will report daily to the divisional office before heading out to different locations to assist with the setup and maintenance of IT infrastructure. Responsibilities include installing cable modems, printers, and new workstations, as well as setting up StarLink satellite internet and Cradle Points for cellular internet connections. Additionally, the technician will troubleshoot local area networks (LAN) to ensure connectivity and functionality at these sites. Customer service is a key component of this role, as the technician will be interacting with non-technical staff and must deliver excellent service experiences. In addition to fieldwork, the technician will also provide support for standard service desk issues at the corporate office, which may involve troubleshooting software problems, internet connectivity issues, and managing Active Directory and Office 365 environments. The role is expected to be hands-on and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving in both field and office settings. This is a contract position with a duration of 6 to 12 months, offering a competitive hourly wage between $33 and $38. The technician will be expected to have a reliable vehicle to travel to various sites throughout the valley, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Visit community build sites to assist with IT setup and support.
  • Install cable modems, printers, and new workstations at various locations.

  • Troubleshoot local area networks (LAN) to ensure proper functionality.
  • Provide excellent customer service to non-technical staff at build sites.

  • Administer Active Directory and Office 365 as needed.
  • Set up A/V equipment for various needs.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in an IT Support position.
  • Experience working in the field, setting up new workstations and internet connections.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues.
  • Experience administering Active Directory and Office 365.
  • Knowledge of common networking protocols and ability to troubleshoot LANs.
  • Experience setting up A/V equipment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Reliable vehicle for travel to various sites.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience setting up StarLink satellite internet is a big plus.
  • White glove customer service experience.
