About the position

Russell Tobin's client, a leading commercial bank company, is seeking an IT Financial Analyst to join their team remotely. This position is a contract role that offers a pay rate of $22-$25 per hour, depending on experience. The IT Financial Analyst will be responsible for executing month-end financial processing activities, which include a variety of tasks such as invoice processing, accruals, reclassifications, and maintaining recurring journal entries. The role also involves assisting in the processing of IT-related Purchase Orders and running routine Oracle reports to support operations. The analyst will analyze results from various studies and reports, prepare complex financial analysis projects, and manage the preparation, accuracy, and timeliness of monthly financial analysis. Additionally, the analyst will conduct special studies to analyze complex financial actions, ensuring that all financial activities are accurately recorded and reported.

Responsibilities

  • Execute month end financial processing activities, including invoice processing, accruals, reclassifications, and maintaining recurring journal entries.
  • Assist in processing IT related Purchase Orders.
  • Run routine Oracle reports to support operations.
  • Analyze results of studies, reports, and analyses.
  • Prepare complex financial analysis projects to summarize current and projected financial information.
  • Research and prepare financial reports.
  • Manage and review the preparation, accuracy, and timeliness of monthly financial analysis.
  • Conduct special studies to analyze complex financial actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or related business field.
  • 5+ years' experience in accounting and finance, with some financial management experience required.
  • Broad knowledge of core Finance principles and basic understanding of the corporate accounting process (forecast, invoicing, chargeback, accruals, etc.), preferably with experience in IT.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver output exercising judgement and discretion consistently.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative data-analysis skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and recommendations.
  • Strong to expert skills in data transformation using MS Excel or Access.
  • Ability to work well both independently and in teams.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree or above in computer science or engineering preferred.
  • MBA degree preferred.
  • Experience as a former client worker.
  • Experience in process improvements and cross-functional communications.
  • Flexibility in working with different time zones with stakeholders.
