The IT Functional Analyst II for Supply Chain Management at the University of Rochester plays a crucial role in supporting various functions within the organization. This position involves working closely with peers to develop requirements and design documentation based on user input. The analyst is responsible for designing workflows and business processes, completing application configurations and development, and creating testing strategies. Additionally, the role includes administration, maintenance, and security compliance analysis of university business systems. The analyst participates in planning and implementing new systems or functions, ensuring that quality application maintenance and upgrades are delivered. Typically, this position operates independently but may collaborate with other analysts as needed. In this role, the analyst will work with user communities and support team members to understand and document business requirements. They will create functional or solution documentation and translate requirements into configurable software components to address complex business problems. The analyst will complete assigned application configuration or development deliverables and may lead teams in testing these deliverables. They will also participate in user community events to promote project goals and conduct training sessions. The analyst will provide business analysis and support services for both non-production and production environments, including requirements analysis, configuration, testing, and implementation. The position requires the analyst to respond to end-user support requests, troubleshoot issues, and serve as an escalation point for problem resolution. On-call support after hours may be required based on application support needs. The analyst will collaborate with various technical and functional personnel to fulfill support requests, validate system fixes, and implement new modules and features. Maintaining technical data integrity through query execution and data analysis is also a key responsibility. The analyst will participate in team retrospective events with a focus on continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for system enhancements and productivity improvements. They will share knowledge, provide cross-training, and actively participate in team meetings, as well as lead the estimation and planning of future work plans and the development of Business Continuity Plans/Procedures. Overall, the IT Functional Analyst II is expected to maintain a deep understanding of their functional area, university policies, and industry standards while participating in external communities of practice to gain and share knowledge.
