About the position

The IT Generalist at Uzin Utz North America is responsible for providing comprehensive IT support at the Waco, TX plant. This role serves as the primary point of contact for all IT-related inquiries, ensuring that employees have the necessary tools and support to perform their jobs effectively. The position requires a proactive individual with strong technical skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and network systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT support needs at the Waco, TX plant, addressing hardware, software, and system inquiries.
• Configure and troubleshoot computers and iOS devices for new hires and both on-site and remote employees.
• Install, test, and troubleshoot software packages, including operating systems and office applications, to ensure access to essential systems.
• Assist with IT asset tracking and inventory location to maintain an organized and accurate record of IT resources.
• Ensure compliance with IT directives from the parent company in Germany, and uphold these standards and policies across the team.
• Coordinate with IT Management in Germany to execute elevated system administration tasks effectively.
• Respond to employee inquiries, diagnose system issues, and provide solutions to hardware, software, and operator problems.

Requirements

• Associates Degree or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience in an IT position (preferred).
• 3-4 years in an IT support role, such as Help Desk Support or equivalent experience (preferred).
• Proficiency in iOS and Windows operating systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Office 2013/2016 suite.
• Basic networking knowledge, including troubleshooting connectivity issues in LAN and VPN settings.
• Familiarity with Windows server network services such as DHCP, DNS, and file sharing.
• Knowledge of video conferencing software like GoTo Meeting and Zoom (preferred).
• Understanding of VoIP systems (preferred).
