About the position

The IT Hardware Support Engineer is responsible for providing first-class technical support for hardware and software issues, diagnosing and resolving complex technical problems, and maintaining server performance and security. This role requires a current TS/SCI security clearance with a full-scope polygraph and involves collaboration with other IT professionals to implement solutions and improvements in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Providing first-class technical support for hardware and software issues across the organization.
  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Performing hardware repairs and upgrades as necessary to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Administering, maintaining, and monitoring servers to ensure their security, reliability, and performance.
  • Serving as an escalation point for technical issues that cannot be resolved by first-level support.
  • Collaborating with other IT professionals to develop and implement IT solutions and improvements.
  • Maintaining the highest level of security and confidentiality in all aspects of work, in compliance with company and government standards.
  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends and applying this knowledge in your role.

Requirements

  • Current U.S. government Top Secret/SCI security clearance with full scope polygraph.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar IT support role, focusing on network hardware support, hardware repair, and server administration.
  • Proficiency in escalation support and providing high-level technical support.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Strong understanding of IT security principles and practices.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
