About the position

The IT Hardware Support Engineer (TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph, Servers) position is a critical role within a global, industry-leading enterprise IT, Software, Cloud, and Solutions firm. This role requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance with a full-scope polygraph, emphasizing the importance of security and confidentiality in all aspects of work. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team that values innovation, initiative, and results, working on cutting-edge technology to support a diverse customer base that includes Fortune 500 companies and emerging businesses. As a Hardware Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing first-class technical support for hardware and software issues across the organization. This includes diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical issues promptly and efficiently. You will perform hardware repairs and upgrades as necessary to ensure optimal system performance, administer and maintain servers, and monitor their security, reliability, and performance. Additionally, you will serve as an escalation point for technical issues that cannot be resolved by first-level support, collaborating with other IT professionals to develop and implement IT solutions and improvements. Keeping up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends is essential, as is maintaining the highest level of security and confidentiality in compliance with company and government standards.

Responsibilities

  • Providing first-class technical support for hardware and software issues across the organization.
  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Performing hardware repairs and upgrades as necessary to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Administering, maintaining, and monitoring servers to ensure their security, reliability, and performance.
  • Serving as an escalation point for technical issues that cannot be resolved by first-level support.
  • Collaborating with other IT professionals to develop and implement IT solutions and improvements.
  • Maintaining the highest level of security and confidentiality in all aspects of work, in compliance with company and government standards.
  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends and applying this knowledge in your role.

Requirements

  • Current U.S. government Top Secret/SCI security clearance with full scope polygraph.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar IT support role, with a focus on network hardware support, hardware repair, and server administration.
  • Proficiency in escalation support and providing high-level technical support.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and understandable way.
  • Strong understanding of IT security principles and practices.
  • Ability to work well in a team, as well as independently, and to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
