About the position

Lochmueller Group is seeking an IT Help Desk Support Technician to join our IT Department in St. Louis. This role is ideal for candidates with strong customer service skills who are eager to learn and grow within a supportive and employee-owned company. The technician will be responsible for providing IT support, troubleshooting issues, and assisting users with various software and hardware problems, contributing to the company's mission of delivering quality service and fostering a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, work and escalate IT support-related tickets.
  • Resolve remote connectivity issues (VPN, RDP, SSO/MFA).
  • Troubleshoot PC/printer hardware and software problems.
  • Assist with typical office productivity applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and Adobe PDF.
  • Handle logins and password resets for Active Directory, SSO/MFA, and various applications & websites.
  • Manage system/application/file share access requests and permission issues.
  • Provide training and assistance with mobile device issues.
  • Image/rebuild new workstations & laptops and deploy to end users.
  • Create, review, and revise documentation as processes and procedures evolve.

Requirements

  • General knowledge of PC maintenance.
  • Research and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong customer service skills: friendly, patient, courteous, respectful, and humble.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to identify the appropriate communication method for the situation.
  • Open and inviting to walk-ups.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts at a level appropriate to the audience.
  • Ability to take good notes and follow detailed instructions.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and fast learner.
  • Ability to prioritize and track multiple projects/tasks efficiently.
  • Understanding of limitations and when to ask for help.
  • Familiarity with PC/monitor/docking station connectivity and cable types.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, both on-prem and in the cloud (Office365).
  • Must possess and maintain a valid/active Driver's License.
