About the position

The IT Help Desk Technician role at Roth Staffing Companies is a direct hire, full-time position based in Bend, Oregon. This position is primarily remote, but the technician must be available to work onsite when requested. The annual salary for this role ranges from $50,000 to $63,000, depending on the candidate's experience, education, and certifications. Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States and cannot work on a C2C basis or with third-party vendors. The IT Director is looking for a Tier 2 candidate with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role. Strong communication skills are essential, as the technician will be required to assist internal employees with technical issues over the phone and in person. The technician will provide support through various channels, including telephone, in-person, and online, ensuring that all IT questions are addressed promptly. In addition to providing support, the technician will perform daily, weekly, and monthly IT operations, assist with employee transitions, and complete work order assignments in the Help Desk system. The role also involves training employees on company-provided applications and troubleshooting application issues. The technician will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various hardware and software, including desktop computers, laptops, tablets, printers, and peripheral devices. Travel to branch offices may be required as needed, and all responsibilities must be performed in accordance with company values and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide telephone, in-person, and online support to end-users (internal employees).
  • Respond to IT questions over the phone and/or transfer calls to other IT staff when necessary.
  • Provide update, status, and completion information to managers and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail or in-person communication.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly IT operations (checklists).
  • Perform IT duties required to support employee job transitions (new employees, job transfers, employee departures, etc.).
  • Complete work order assignments as listed in the Help Desk system.
  • Assist in training employees in learning new company-provided applications and assists in problem solving for applications issues.
  • Perform installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of desktop computers, laptop computers, tablets, docking stations, printers, cash dispensers, signature pads, scanners, and peripheral devices.
  • Assist with the installation and maintenance of end user software applications.
  • Assist in the maintenance of branch office IT facilities.
  • Travel as needed to branch offices and other assigned locations.
  • Perform all responsibilities in accordance with Company Values, compliance, regulatory and Information Protection requirements.
  • Attend training and comply with Company policies and procedures as well as applicable State and Federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of MS Windows, MS-Office, and other common PC software.
  • Familiarity with working on computers in a networking environment.
  • Knowledge of computer network systems, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure of time constraints.
  • Excellent aptitude for troubleshooting, attention to detail and multitasking.
  • Ability to establish an effective work schedule under supervision.
  • Associate degree in computer science or related (desired).
  • 2-5+ years work experience in a computer related field.
