About the position

The IT Help Desk Technician is responsible for the maintenance and internal support of PCs, printers, servers, and related network equipment in a Microsoft environment. This role involves monitoring and responding to Helpdesk support tickets, assisting users with hardware and software issues, and ensuring effective communication within the IT team and with users.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond timely to Helpdesk support tickets.
  • Review and document Service Desk tickets for escalation/resolution of service requests.
  • Communicate timely and effectively with IT team, users, and management.
  • Exhibit professionalism, respect, and courtesy at all times.
  • Complete PC setup and deployment for new employees using standard hardware, images, and software.
  • Assist users with related PC/software questions and issues.
  • Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, connection, and software issues.
  • Provide Hardware Break Fix services for end user devices.
  • Support Desktop Management with mass migration/deployment.
  • Provide IT support for local and standard issue software.
  • Perform regular maintenance on printers and assist users with printer consumables replacement.
  • Setup and maintain network printers, scanners, and multi-function devices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
  • 1 year of help desk experience (Preferred).
  • 1 year of experience with Windows (Preferred).
  • Working knowledge of hardware and applications including Windows Server OS, Microsoft Windows OS, MS Office suite, asset management, computer imaging software, PC hardware, printers, and other networked equipment.

  • Networking+ certification (not required but a definite plus).
  • Security+ certification (not required but a definite plus).
  • MCSA certification (not required but a definite plus).
