About the position

Since 1995, we've harnessed that power to offer proven, performance-based solutions for our utility, government, and institutional customers. We are currently seeking an IT Helpdesk Technician I. This role will be responsible for responding to IT support requests, which include but are not limited to: physical equipment setup and troubleshooting, responding to support requests via ticket systems or as directed by a manager/supervisor, and the shipping or other delivery of IT equipment. Related duties will include keeping track of IT inventory, ensuring that hardware is available for incoming employees, and the collection and repurposing of hardware from former employees. Hardware management responsibilities will also include maintenance, troubleshooting, and occasionally procurement of audio/visual equipment used in meeting/conference rooms throughout the company.

Responsibilities

  • Be the first point of contact for issues regarding equipment, software, and other IT requests
  • Provide basic troubleshooting for local and remote employees
  • Respond to service desk tickets and provide solutions for reported customer problems
  • Escalate higher-level requests to more senior members of the IT department as appropriate
  • Help with internal office moves and buildouts
  • Support printer/scanner setup and troubleshoot printing/scanning issues
  • Log and track issues using company ticketing system, and maintain history records and related problem documentation
  • Keep peers / manager informed of trends and any significant problems or delays
  • Keep customers updated on status of reported problems or projects
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in work schedule to work some evenings and weekends for special projects
  • Assist in AV setups as needed for meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Relevant undergraduate degree or at least 2 years of related experience in IT support services
  • Basic knowledge of Windows and Mac OS X
  • Basic knowledge of networking
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and SharePoint
  • Ability to work and thrive independently
  • Ability to interact successfully with internal clients and present in a primary role
