About the position

BAE Systems is seeking a dynamic individual to provide maintenance and support for the server and computer desktop environment. This role involves analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions, and supporting the internal IT Helpdesk. The individual will be responsible for the administration and internal support of the company's servers, PCs, printers, and related equipment, while also serving as the IT department's Property Book Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk
  • Modify configurations, utilities, software default settings, etc. for the local workstation and server environment
  • Utilize and maintain the helpdesk tracking software
  • Document internal procedures
  • Assist with onboarding of new users, ensuring each workstation has necessary equipment
  • Manage PC setup and deployment for new employees using standard hardware, images, and software
  • Configure mobile devices to operate with Microsoft installed software when required
  • Assign users and computers to proper groups in Active Directory
  • Maintain inventory of all hardware, software, and software licenses
  • Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required
  • Have a working knowledge of A/V systems including matrix switchers, distribution amplifiers, professional audio, televisions, projectors, and video teleconferencing systems
  • Maintain IT equipment inventory and manage the receiving, accountability, and disposal of IT equipment
  • Administer, plan, and direct the facility property management program
  • Inspect completed work for accuracy and compliance with established procedures
  • Coordinate logistics operations within the brigade or battalion while managing equipment fielding and turn-ins for external partners
  • Ensure adequate supplies by placing orders and posting transactions to IT departments property books
  • Collect worn-out items and send damaged items back
  • Manage records for all leased, loaned, and borrowed equipment, and for equipment transferred in and out of the Property Book
  • Dispose of IT equipment as directed by the IT department lead.

Requirements

  • Must hold at least an active SECRET security clearance (DoD preferred) or be able to obtain a clearance
  • Meet or exceed all requirements for IAT Level II as defined in DoD 8570.1
  • Two years of hands-on experience with IT Helpdesk Services Support
  • Knowledge of common desktop software applications including Windows 10 Enterprise, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience interacting with mid-to-senior level military officers from US and International military organizations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Four years of hands-on experience with IT Helpdesk Services Support
  • Experience with Windows 11 Enterprise
  • MCSA: Windows 10; MCSA: Windows Server 2012/2016; CCNA/CCNP Routing and Switching; other relevant certifications
  • Experience administering systems in Azure and Office 365 environments
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Call Manager (UCM) and Cisco UC Phone devices
  • Expertise with iOS devices and ZScaler Mobile.
