About the position

The Information Security Engineer role at Windstream is a critical position within the IT Security team, focusing on the architecture, planning, and design of robust information security processes and systems. The engineer will support key functions such as Identity and Access Management (IAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). This role requires strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to effectively identify and resolve information security issues, ensuring the security and integrity of the organization's systems.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the architecture, configuration, deployment, integration, and maintenance of Security Engineering solutions and applications.
  • Demonstrate advanced understanding of business processes, internal control risk management, IT controls, and related standards.
  • Engage in the research and identification of new and emerging technologies to enhance Windstream's Info Security processes.
  • Assist in developing the Info Security architectural vision and lead the installation, configuration, and management of key Info Security systems.
  • Conduct proof of concept testing to identify and engineer new or emerging Info Security technologies for the benefit of Windstream.
  • Work with compliance and regulatory program requirements.
  • Deploy and/or support security solutions.
  • Resolve issues related to identities, systems, access, accounts, authentication, authorization, entitlements, and permissions.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of role-based access control, ensuring a 'least privilege' level of access for all users.
  • Follow standard operating procedures to perform IAM pre and post-production support activities.
  • Focus on automation opportunities and improvements for certificate management.
  • Implement, administer, and support privileged session management solutions and elevated systems access (CyberArk and Centrify).
  • Manage Active Directory administration, Windows system security administration, and network, email, and application access management.
  • Demonstrate a problem-solving mindset with curiosity, critical thinking, and proactive solutions.
  • Deliver products and services to enable effective Identity and Access Management throughout the organization.
  • Enforce compliance with IAM principles, including least privilege access, password management, audit logging, RBAC, certificate issuance, and revocation.

Requirements

  • College degree in a Technical or related field and 1 to 3 years of professional-level experience.
  • Experience in Unix Administration.
  • Familiarity with SSL Certificates.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Active Directory and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) systems.
  • Proficiency in one or more areas: Identity Management, Access Management, Role-Based Access Control, User Access Certification, and Federation.
  • Experience with PowerShell and SQL queries.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
