About the position

The IT Infrastructure Administrator II - Database Administrator is responsible for maintaining the performance and availability of server and network infrastructure to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency. This role involves supporting complex systems, applications, and databases, as well as analyzing, implementing, monitoring, and performing maintenance on various IT components including networks, servers, and security measures.

Responsibilities

  • Performs installation, configuration, maintenance, deployment, and release of databases across a platform.
  • Programs, installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains all aspects of the database environment, including security and server updates or patches.
  • Manages current database environment by resolving shortages, performance issues, and ensuring data availability to applications.
  • Establishes enterprise database standards such as file system layout and database installation.
  • Identifies performance problems and malfunctions, addressing system and equipment issues; performs database backup and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Maintains enterprise database documentation.
  • Participates in security investigations and internal audits as needed.
  • Monitors utilization for capacity planning and forecasts utilization patterns, recommending modifications or upgrades.
  • Manages Oracle databases and administers network security across a platform.
  • Expands networks by setting up new hardware and software, connecting it to existing assets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Four (4) years of information technology experience.

  • Experience with Oracle databases.
  • Experience establishing enterprise database standards such as file system layout and database installation.
  • Experience maintaining enterprise database documentation.
  • Experience providing and evaluating database access tools and techniques for business users.
  • Experience participating in security investigations and internal audits.
  • Experience performing database backup and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Experience in Database Design, analyzing, testing, and implementing physical database design.
  • Experience with Capacity Planning, monitoring utilization and forecasting patterns.
