About the position

The Cloud Operations Engineer at Enablon is a pivotal role responsible for maintaining and enhancing the fully automated infrastructure that delivers our solutions to customers in the Public Cloud. This position requires a strong focus on automation, as well as experience in building scalable infrastructure and troubleshooting performance issues. The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology and understand the importance of providing high-quality services to customers. You will be part of a dedicated team of Cloud Operations Engineers and Architects, working primarily in the Public Cloud environments of Azure and AWS. Reporting to the Cloud Operations Manager, you will collaborate closely with various internal teams to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our cloud operations. In this role, you will be tasked with ensuring that all systems are available and performing according to the expected Service Level Agreements (SLAs). You will also be responsible for adding new tools and maintaining existing ones, such as Terraform, TeamCity, ThousandEyes, SumoLogic, and VictorOps. Your experience with automation tools will be crucial as you work to build infrastructure that scales effectively. You will utilize GitOps practices to promote changes through different environments, ensuring that all technical changes undergo peer reviews and approvals. Additionally, you will need to maintain a strong awareness of operational security and work to improve security and compliance controls across our systems. As part of your responsibilities, you will also be required to perform 24x7 on-call duty to provide support for any infrastructure issues that may arise. This role is essential in ensuring that our cloud infrastructure remains robust, secure, and capable of meeting the demands of our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all systems are available and performing according to the expected Service Level Agreements.
  • Add new and maintain existing tooling (Terraform, TeamCity, ThousandEyes, SumoLogic, VictorOps).
  • Utilize automation tools such as Terraform to build scalable infrastructure.
  • Use GitOps to promote change through environments, including peer reviews and approval of technical changes.
  • Collaborate with internal Product, DevOps, and Support teams to develop next-generation software delivery pipelines.
  • Maintain operational security awareness and improve security and compliance controls.
  • Perform 24x7 on-call duty to support infrastructure issues.

Requirements

  • Relevant working experience in a similar position.
  • 2+ years of experience in systems engineering with a focus on automation and Azure or AWS.
  • Experience with Operations on both Windows Server and Linux systems.
  • Experience using Terraform.
  • Understanding of concepts such as virtualization, containerization, auto-scaling, and experience with GIT and CI/CD integration toolchains.
  • Well-versed in at least one of the three scripting languages (BASH, Python, or PowerShell).
  • Experience with hardening modern operating systems, web and application servers, databases, proxies, etc.
