About the position

As the IT Infrastructure Project Manager at Uline, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing IT infrastructure initiatives that are critical to the operations of North America's leading distributor of shipping, industrial, and packaging materials. This position is based at our corporate headquarters in Pleasant Prairie, WI, or Waukegan, IL, depending on the needs of the projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are executed efficiently from start to finish, aligning with Uline's commitment to quality and service excellence. In this role, you will collaborate closely with various Uline teams to design and engineer infrastructure projects, while also managing external vendors to ensure successful implementation. Your responsibilities will include developing detailed work plans that outline project timelines, milestones, risk assessments, and staffing requirements. You will also be tasked with establishing high-quality communication channels, providing informative written and verbal updates on project status, dashboards, and overall progress to stakeholders. Your expertise in managing infrastructure projects will be essential as you navigate the complexities of various technologies and platforms that have enterprise-wide impacts. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to hardware refreshes, operating system upgrades, disaster recovery planning, and IT requirements for building construction, enhancing the overall infrastructure of Uline.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, coordination, execution, and completion of IT infrastructure projects.
  • Work closely with Uline teams in designing and engineering infrastructure projects.
  • Manage external vendors in the implementation of infrastructure projects.
  • Develop detailed work plans identifying project timelines, milestones, risk assessments, and staffing needs.
  • Establish and provide high-quality written and verbal project communications, including weekly status updates and project dashboards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing infrastructure projects.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Project and Office.
  • Experience managing projects with a variety of technologies and platforms with enterprise-wide impact.
  • Experience with hardware refreshes, operating system upgrade planning, disaster recovery, and IT requirements for building construction is a plus.
