About the position

As the IT Infrastructure Project Manager at Uline, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing IT infrastructure initiatives that are critical to the operations of North America's leading distributor of shipping, industrial, and packaging materials. This position is based at our Corporate Headquarters in Pleasant Prairie, WI, or Waukegan, IL, depending on the needs of the projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are executed efficiently from start to finish, aligning with Uline's commitment to quality and service excellence. In this role, you will coordinate the planning, execution, and completion of various IT infrastructure projects. This includes working closely with internal teams to design and engineer infrastructure solutions, as well as managing external vendors to implement these solutions effectively. You will develop comprehensive work plans that outline project timelines, milestones, risk assessments, and staffing requirements, ensuring that all aspects of the project are meticulously planned and communicated. Your ability to establish high-quality written and verbal communications will be essential, as you will provide regular updates on project status, dashboards, and other relevant information to stakeholders. Your leadership will be crucial in driving projects to successful completion, ensuring that Uline continues to grow and adapt in a rapidly changing technological landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, coordination, execution, and completion of IT infrastructure projects.
  • Work closely with Uline teams in designing and engineering infrastructure projects.
  • Manage external vendors in the implementation of infrastructure solutions.
  • Develop detailed work plans identifying project timelines, milestones, risk assessments, and staffing needs.
  • Establish and provide high-quality written and verbal project communications, including weekly status updates and project dashboards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing infrastructure projects.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Project and Office.
  • Experience managing projects with a variety of technologies, platforms, and enterprise-wide impact.
  • Experience with hardware refreshes, operating system upgrade planning, Disaster Recovery, and IT requirements for building construction is a plus.
